Batik has been both an art and a craft for centuries. In Indonesia, batik is part of an ancient tradition, and some of the finest batik cloth is still made there.
The Copper Batik stamps are dipped in hot wax and then placed on the fabric. The fabric is then dyed with the waxed sections remain uncolored.
The Batik Cloth used for clothing typically included symbols. The more wider curves were reserved for nobility. Traditionally the batik cloth has natural colors such as variations of indigo and brown. The more contemporary pieces come in a wider range of colors.
